Usually we will start with a short starter activity, or we may go over some previous work or homework. I will then have a topic planned to work through - this will either be something new, or something that we have identified as needing work. However, I am flexible and if a student would prefer to work on something that they have been getting stuck on at school, then I can switch and go through an alternative topic. I use a wide variety of resources and activities.
I set homework if asked, and if I feel it is appropriate. I always set homework for year 11 and year 13 students, consisting of past exam papers, which prepares them well for the final examinations that they will take.
Please have your pencil case and calculator to hand - although we will be working on screen, students often find it useful to make revision notes and so on during the lesson. You will have a link to the whiteboard page that we use (unique to you), so you can revisit it in between lessons if you want to check something.
For writing on the screen, the very best option is a writing pad and pen that connects to your computer. If you have a touch screen device, or a mouse pad, you can also use a stylus. If you are unable to write on the screen effectively, the whiteboard has a text function, so you can type your answers in instead.
